ABOUT THE FASHION MAGAZINE...
The course was designed to have the instructor act as the facilitator and for our team to come up with the ideas and put them into action by collaborating together as well as with industry professionals. The project started with creating a magazine business plan and coming up with concept ideas and then working as a team to turn the concept into reality.
The project involved: setting up locations for photoshoots, collaborating with models, photographers, hairstylists, make-up artists, designers, musicians, and retailers. As well as the overall team goals, we had individual responsibilities. We created our own Ads, articles, interviewed industry professionals, came up with concepts for photoshoots, styled looks, attended meetings and gave presentations to the team and facilitator/instructor.
We planned and held a launch party with a magazine presentation and the unveiling at the retailer Young & Fabulous. Our team involved two talented graphic designers to aid in obtaining the look and feel we choose for the magazine, help with the printing process for the actual hard copies, and getting a digital copy of the magazine on the website www.ISSUU.com that is specifically designed for independent magazines.
