Photoshop
Book Cover
This project was to re-design a book cover utilizing Photoshop and a book you have already read. I choose Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. I decided to re-vamp the cover generating a darker take on the book than has been done in the past. The new book cover demonstrates the "break-down" of the main character and the dark side of the book. Photos of a city and basement were used and a photo of a girl in distress sitting next to a bottle of pills. The swirl affect was added to combine the city and basement elements together as well as to emphasize the mental illness and difficulties the main character faces throughout this fascinating book.
Movie Poster
This project consisted of writing a movie plot and than designing a movie poster to depict this using Photoshop. I decided to write a horror movie plot called: Evil Eyes about a girl that is demonic and terrorizes a group of teenagers on a camping trip.
Magazine Cover
This final project was to design a magazine cover using the skills and techniques learned over the quarter to demonstrate your knowledge and ability using Photoshop. I decided to design and create an Austin-based tattoo magazine featuring a friend on the cover. I choose funny and relevant article titles for the cover, added a barcode and other images to make it look realistic. The gradient effect was utilized for the background and to pull the colors together and to achieve a more cohesive look.
